The TurboChill wins Airedale a place in the ACR News Awards 2009 finals
Leeds, UK, March 3, 2009 -

Airedale came close to clinching the Air Conditioning Product of the Year in the ACR News Awards 2009 after being nominated as a finalist with the TurboChill.
The star-spangled event which took place on Wednesday night 25th February 09 at the Birmingham Motorcycle Museum was attended by more than 500 of the latest and greatest in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.
Paparazzi-style photographers were out in force on the red carpet, snapping guests as they arrived in a succession of coaches and taxis. Members of Airedale’s product development and sales teams represented Airedale on the night and, with the other guests present, were entertained by the shoulder-shaking genius of TV comic, Mock the Week's Hugh Dennis.
Says Airedale UK sales director Paul Oliver: “Although we did not win, we should congratulate ourselves on being one of just five nominees short listed out of nearly 100 entries in the Air Conditioning Product of the Year category. Airedale’s successful nomination further endorses the TurboChill as a state-of-the-art, innovative and highly efficient product.”
An air-cooled, high capacity chiller, the TurboChill features revolutionary centrifugal Turbocor compressors optimised with cutting-edge components. Brilliantly engineered, using Airedale’s vast expertise in cooling technology, the TurboChill minimises environmental impact by lifting efficiency to new heights and pushing down sound levels.
The TurboChill’s ‘seasonal efficiency’ ESEER* values of up to 5.7 are virtually 50% higher than those of a traditional screw chiller and unparalleled for an air cooled chiller. Offering ultra efficient variable speed control, the TurboChill offers a modular capacity range of 500 – 1100kW and is optimised for R134a.
Included on the Energy Technology List, the TurboChill also features the latest low speed sickle-bladed fans with EC motors; a minimal starting current of just 2A and a single pass evaporator offering high efficiency and low refrigerant charge, facilitating F Gas compliance.
