World Cup mania reaches fever pitch at Airedale International Air Conditioning's South Africa plant
Leeds, UK, June 10, 2010 -

We recently told you that Airedale Air Conditioning products are providing critical cooling to seven out of ten World Cup venues in South Africa. The seven new or refurbished stadiums include Soccer City, Johannesburg where the final will take place; Greenpoint Stadium, Cape Town; Moses Mabhiba Stadium, Durban; Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane; Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit; Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace, Rustenburg and Loftus Versveld, Pretoria.
The units have been manufactured at Airedale's South African based plant in Joannesburg. Airedale South Africa supplies a range of precision air conditioning and comfort products to meet the growing African market for air conditioning.
World Cup mania is reaching fever pitch at the plant where staff are sporting the yellow Bafana Bafana t-shirt. Bafana Bafana is the nickname of South Africa's national soccer team. The actual wearing of the soccer shirts is a nationwide drive for companies, schools and other organisations to wear the shirt on every Friday leading up to the World Cup and for the duration of the tournament.
Says Airedale International Air Conditioning (AIAC) South Africa General Manager Dan Nelson: "I must say it looks good driving to work on a Friday as more than fifty percent of the people are wearing the yellow Bafana Bafana t-shirts. Driving past schools where all the children have them on, looks even better. There is an air conditioning soccer league here and some of our workers do play in it at the weekends."
