In order to handle refrigerants, all engineers must by the 4th July 2011 hold a valid F Gas J11 certificate or equivalent. This in turn is one of the requirements for obtaining a CSCS Skillcard. The minimum requirement for a refrigeration skills card is: F Gas J11, ConstructionSkills Essential Electrics, ConstructionSkills Health & Safety and an industry qualification such as NVQ or City & Guilds.
