Employee update: 13 September 2013
Date: 13th September 2013 | Posted by: Airedale Team | Posted in: Press release
Our employee briefings have now been completed and, just one week on from the fire, the general consensus is that progress is being made very quickly indeed. The Airedale ‘family’ has been busy manning the phones speaking with customers, cleaning, shredding, calling suppliers, gathering data – the list goes on – and we even managed to generate 100+ new enquiries for our Controls and Service Divisions at the Energy Event, Birmingham NEC, 10-11 September 2013. If we have not already asked for your help, don’t worry, we appreciate your desire to get involved and will be calling you soon.
Next week our focus will be to prepare the offices and production areas at the new site in central Leeds. In the meantime, 50 or so of our commercial team are already up and running from the Rawdon cottages.
While all this has been going on, we are pleased to say orders for our Service, Spares and Controls Divisions, as well as for systems, have been coming in all week.
Now that the structural engineers have certified the areas undamaged by the fire to be safe, we have established a team to finish off systems that are intact so they can be shipped to customers. As previously reported, controls, commissioning and service activities have also been carrying on as normal with 100% of our engineers on-site around the UK during the course of the week.
In the midst of all this, our Marketing Manager, Richard Burcher, is now the proud father of a beautiful little girl, Olivia Isabelle, with mother and baby reported to be doing well. Rich, we send you our very best wishes.
A huge thank you is due to everyone within the business for your loyalty and dedication to getting Airedale back on track as quickly as possible. Thanks also go to friends and colleagues at our parent company, Modine Manufacturing, who have been quick to offer much practical support – particularly with IT, communications and operations. They were quick to reassure us that they regard this as a “Modine matter”, and evidence of their unyielding support came with the visit of Matt McBurney,VP of the Commercial Products Group, this week.
Please keep watching the website for further updates and follow us on twitter at @AiredaleAC for regular snapshots as we continue to make great progress. Have a restful weekend everyone and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday as Airedale continues to bounce back stronger.
Clive Parkman, Managing Director
