Our hands-on basic refrigeration and air conditioning course is a fantastic air conditioning introduction. With small class sizes, the course is highly interactive and is taught by experts in air conditioning and refrigeration.
Course duration and details
The course lasts for 2 days (day 1 08.45 – 17.00, day 2 08.45 – 16.00) and takes place at our Gelderd Lane site (Gelderd Lane, Leeds LS12 6AL, West Yorkshire).

What you will learn on the course
Our basic refrigeration and air conditioning course is based around the principle of learning-by-doing. During the two day interactive air conditioning training course, content will cover:
Types of air conditioning systems and their various uses
Understanding the parameters for human comfort
Building heat gains and losses and basic needs for equipment sizing
Basic refrigeration technology with the vapor compression cycle
Types of refrigerants and their different uses
The environmental impact of air conditioning and refrigerants and how it can be improved
Introduction and understanding of Psychrometrics (characteristics of air)
Introduction to pressure/enthalpy for refrigerants
Practical analysis of systems and their operation

This air conditioning introduction training course covers a wide subject field and is ideal for those:
- New to the industry or with limited experience of A C & R systems
- Seeking to obtain basic knowledge of A C & R by attending a formal course
- Keen to use it as a stepping stone to the more advanced Modules 2 and 3
