British cooling systems manufacturer Airedale International is again on the award-winning trail, shortlisted for this year’s RAC Cooling Industry Awards which champion the leading innovations and environmental successes in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

The RAC Awards, now in its 13th year, are the industry’s biggest and most-respected Awards event.

The Artus™ low energy, hybrid fan coil unit, which launches this Autumn, is one of the products shortlisted for ‘Air Conditioning Innovation – VRFs, Heat Pumps, Fan Coils and Peripherals’, as well as ‘Air Conditioning Product of the Year – Systems’ categories..

The Awards ceremony takes place on Wednesday, 27 September 2017 and Airedale representatives, customers, and Arup consultancy will be present at what will be a celebration of the best of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

Both categories are packed with innovation, making for two highly competitive award groups. Having already picked up the M&S Big Innovation Pitch 2017 title, announced earlier this year, the Artus™, developed in partnership with Arup, provides a smarter, more compact approach to air-conditioning.

With sustainability, innovation and efficiency at its core, Artus™ combines the flexibility of traditional fan coil units with the low-energy usage of chilled beams, at a cost, comparable with FCUs.

The Artus™ promises to solve the biggest complaints in comfort cooling, including; energy efficiency, draughts and dead spots, space claim of secondary ductwork, unit footprint, cluttered ceiling void services, and restrictive access for maintenance and installation.

Artus™ offers a fully-packaged, plug-and-play, single-supplier system and a host of benefits. These include self-access, reduced ceiling clutter and minimised ceiling void heights.

As the unit is fully-packaged, there is no need for the specification of ancillary controls, which is of huge benefit to installers, reducing cost and significantly increasing the speed of commissioning.

It is perfect for both; cost-sensitive new-builds, height constrained refurbishments and energy conscious end-users.
